Roads are blocked because of landslides on routes. The heavy rain has caused landslides and mudslides in parts of the state which has blocked the main roads and made it hard for people to move around between towns, villages and tourist places. Many roads are still closed, including the ones in Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Chamba districts.

The road from Manali to Leh has also been closed because of floods, which has cut off some villages and is a problem for tourists who are traveling in high-altitude areas. The teams that fix the roads are using machines to remove the mud and rocks. If it keeps raining it will take longer to fix the roads and there might be more landslides.
The electricity supply has also been disrupted in districts. The rain has damaged the power lines and the equipment that supplies electricity, which has caused power outages in places. Trees have fallen landslides have happened water has seeped into the equipment and the poles that carry the power lines have been damaged in the terrain.
The teams that take care of the electricity are trying to fix the damaged lines and get the power on but it is hard for them to reach the remote areas where the roads are blocked. The power outages have affected homes, small businesses, mobile phone networks and public services. In the hill districts if the power is out for a time it can also affect the water supply, the cold storage, the communication systems and the local health services.
