Ayodhya | June 26 2026: Arvind Kejriwal, the convenor of Aam Aadmi Party visited the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on Friday. This visit happened when there is a lot of talk about the donations made by devotees and how they were allegedly misused.
During his visit to Ayodhya Arvind Kejriwal went to the Ram Mandir and the Hanumangarhi Temple to offer prayers. After praying Arvind Kejriwal criticized the way the investigation into the alleged misuse of donations is being handled.
Arvind Kejriwal talked to reporters after offering prayers. He said that he prayed for the country to do well and for everyone to be prosperous. Arvind Kejriwal also said that he prayed for those for the alleged misuse of donations to be punished strictly if they are found guilty.
Arvind Kejriwal said, “I prayed that whoever did this bad thing should get the strictest punishment from God.”
The former Chief Minister of Delhi strongly criticized the First Information Report registered in the case. Arvind Kejriwal said that it is an attempt to divert attention from the real people responsible. According to Arvind Kejriwal the investigation is only looking at junior-level employees. Not at senior officials or influential people.
Arvind Kejriwal asked how such a big financial issue could have continued for long without the involvement of higher authorities. Arvind Kejriwal said that eight ranking employees have been arrested but the investigation should not stop there. The Aam Aadmi Party national convenor said that the investigation should continue to find out the truth.
There is a controversy about the donations and valuables offered by devotees at the Ram Mandir. It is alleged that these donations were misused.
- The Uttar Pradesh government formed a Special Investigation Team this month.
- The team looked into the handling of temple donations after concerns were raised.
- The team submitted its findings and then a First Information Report was registered at the Ram Janmabhoomi police station.
The police have arrested eight people named in the First Information Report. The case includes allegations of breach of trust cheating and criminal conspiracy. The investigators are still looking at records, donation management systems and other evidence related to the allegations.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has denied any wrongdoing. The trust said that it supports an investigation. The trust had asked for an inquiry after the allegations surfaced, which led to the formation of the Special Investigation Team by the state government.
BJP leaders reacted to Arvind Kejriwals remarks. They said that the government acted quickly by forming the Special Investigation Team and registering the First Information Report after receiving the report. They said that legal action is being taken based on evidence and that anyone found guilty will face action under the law.
Arvind Kejriwals visit to Ayodhya has added a dimension to the controversy. This is happening ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections next year. The Aam Aadmi Party has demanded an investigation into the alleged financial irregularities. The ruling BJP has accused the opposition of trying to politicize a religious issue.
The authorities have asked the public not to speculate and to let the legal process continue. The officials have said that further action will depend on the evidence collected during the probe. The Special Investigation Team will continue to examine the alleged irregularities, in the temples donation management system.
