India presented a stern and uncompromising counter-reply at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting against Pakistan and once again brought Pakistan’s terrorism records into focus. During a high-level meeting at UNSC, India labeled Pakistan for using international forums like UNSC for discharging misinformation across the globe and at the same time allowing and incubating terrorists in Pakistan.
“It has always been an effort to distract the world from their failures within their system with nonsense arguments against India, said the Permanent Representative to the UN from India. “It seems they have reached a level of mastering victims and perpetrators, but the world is no longer interested in this kind of world view.”
In this meeting of the UNSC, India expressed that Pakistan is a host nation for many terrorist organizations and persons identified as terrorists by the UN. The Indian delegate said that despite warnings and intense international observation, Pakistan has thus far not taken credible and irrevocable steps against terrorist organizations functioning in their country. In this context, India reminded the Council that terrorism across borders is a threat to international and regional peace.
India has also condemned the raise of the matter regarding Jammu and Kashmir by the Pakistani government at international platforms and stated that this is an internal matter already resolved through the constitution and democracy.
“People of Jammu and Kashmir are actively participating in all democratic exercises such as elections and development programs, which is contrary to the Pakistani contention that they are being repressed,” said the Indian ambassador.
It is evident that the Indian ambassador’s statement regarding the situation in Kashmir is quite factual because the people are indeed actively involved in the democratic process of the
“The root cause of Pakistan’s fixation on India is because it is unable to cope with the challenges pertaining to the management of its country,” said India. Pakistan’s economic conditions, growing extremism, and dwindling freedom in the country were brought into focus by the Indian delegation.
India continued to caution the UNSC not to permit terrorist sympathizers to shape the global dialogue in favor of terrorism. It emphasized that the problem of terrorism was already weakened by the hypocrisy of the global response to terrorism.
This statement also embodied India’s call for zero tolerance for terrorism based on reason and location. India reiterated again that terrorism cannot be justified by any reason and in any location on the planet. In addition to this, the envoy said a meaningful dialogue cannot coexist with terror and violence.
In its statement, Pakistan tried to bring up issues of human rights abuse in Kashmir, but this was rejected outright by India as “fabricated and politically motivated.” There was an accusation by India of trying to draw attention away from its own human rights abuse, its treatment of minorities, journalists, and political dissidents inside its own borders.
The international observers noted that the Indian reaction was balanced and strong in expressing alignment with the increasing international consensus that the international community has a responsibility to eradicate terrorism from its roots. The concerns of a few member states regarding the use of international platforms as political propaganda adds to the validity of the Indian stand.
It is in a scenario where there is increasing global interest in fighting terrorism due to high geopolitical tensions and conflicts in regions. One of the ways in which peace will come to South Asia, according to India, is when Pakistan ends the strategy of using terrorism.
The Indian representative concluded the speech stating that the UNSC must stay united in the struggle against terrorism. He further urged that the UNSC must adapt to the realities on the planet. The representative concluded the speech with the statement: “Peace and security cannot be achieved through duplicity and denial,” and that India will continue to speak up strongly on matters that threaten its sovereignty. Once again, India’s robust presence at the United Nations showcased its strong stand as an advocate for accountability, the rule of law, and a world free of terrorism.
